Teen Gothic

Hi everybody. Please tell me how Gothic rock differs from post-punk. So far I have found only two differences: 1) The external image of the performers. 2) The theme of the songs (in post-punk, mainly the theme of loneliness / suffering / self-search / pressure from the outside world. In Gothic rock, the theme of the songs is mostly mystical (vampires, werewolves, ghosts, death, rebirth) Is it true? I will be glad if you add more differences. Thanks everyone

i cannot for the life remember what it’s called but i need to find it: all i remember is the lyrics ‘in excelsis deo’ and i remember it sounding like something mors syphlitica would write/ sounds like. i know this is a stupid post but i can’t really go into a non goth subreddit and expect anything less than christmas carols

I’ve been fascinated by and a part of goth culture for like 5 years now, but I only listen to a handful songs that would be considered goth music. Im autistic and the thought of trying to find a song I like or listening to an entire album just to look for songs is really overwhelming, which makes it really hard to get into music. I don’t have many friends let alone goth friends to put me on to stuff, so I would really appreciate if you all could recommend some good goth music (preferably specific songs instead of entire albums, if the song is good I will likely listen to more of the album naturally. thank you)

Does anyone remember the goth band The Shroud? Well before they were called that they called themselves The Shroudettes. They only released 2 albums as The Shroudettes. The live album they made called All Hallows Eve can be found on YouTube but there first album Victimized is extremely hard to find. Does anyone out there know where I can the album Victimized?
